Testimonials

Testimonials“I've had many lessons, been through many driving schools and instructors; but Wimbledon Driving School helped me to pass. Russ and Farooq were my instructors and they were the best I have met. I am a TV producer and did a series about driving schools and this is the best driving school in my professional opinion.”

Rima Rouf, Tooting Bec, London

“I must say that I am extremely happy with the lessons compared to the last driving school. I learnt so much more in just 3 lessons than I did in over 20 at my previous school. I am very confident that this school is one of the best in London, if not the best.”

Paul Tavarez, New Malden, Surrey

Driving Schools Tolworth (KT5)

Our driving school proudly serves the Tolworth (KT5) area with automatic and manual driving lessons. The information below is intended to help you develop your driving skills further in the key driving competencies and has been provided by our DSA-licenced driving instructors. We hope you find it useful.

Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping

It is best to start this subject on a quiet road like The Ridge.

Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions

WDS recommend doing a circuit which starts on The Ridge, emerges left on to Surbiton hill park, turns left on to Regent Road and then emerges left on to Berrylands.  We can turn right on to Pine Walk and emerge left on to Chiltern Drive.  Then if we turn left on to The Crest and at the end of the road emerge left on to Berrylands we can take the first right back on to The Ridge.  This allows the learner to practice steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques.

Crossroads

The crossroads of  Avenue South, Manor Drive,  Kings Drive and Courtlands Road can be used to illustrate priorities and the extra observation applied at crossroads. The intersection of  Ewell Road,    Tolworth Broadway,  Elgar Avenue and Princes Avenue can be used to provide instruction on the methods of turning right-to-right at a crossroads.

Roundabouts

The roundabout where Elmbridge Avenue, Raeburn Avenue and Surbiton Hill Park come together; can be used to illustrate priorities, methods of positioning and the appropriate signals for a given exit.

Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals

Driving down Ewell Road and Tolworth Broadway there are plenty of crossings which can be used to demonstrate the various different types of crossings and the rules applying to road markings. Planning issues can also be addressed on this route.

Areas to do manoeuvres

The  Reverse around the Corner exercise can be carried out where Berrylands meets either The Ridge or The Crest. The parallel park can be done in Berrylands. The Turn in the Road is also easily demonstrated on Regent Road.
