Testimonials Surbiton

"I am really thankful to my instructor Russ. He is a very cool and calm person by nature.  I used to do lots of faults and he used to advise how I should handle the situation and drive.  My wife advised learning with Wimbledon Driving School as she passed first time with them.  Now I recommend to all the person 'Russ is the best'."

Driving Schools Surbiton (KT6)

Our driving school proudly serves the Surbiton (KT6) area with automatic and manual driving lessons. The information below is intended to help you develop your driving skills further in the key driving competencies and has been provided by our DSA-licenced driving instructors. We hope you find it useful.

Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping

It is best to start this subject on a quiet road like Langley Avenue.

Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions

WDS recommend doing a circuit which starts on Langley Avenue and then turns right on to Woodlands Road.  Following the bend to the road at the end of Woodlands Road we can emerge right on to Corkran Road. This takes us back on to Langley Avenue. We can then follow the bend to the road and emerge left on to Ditton Road.  At the end of Ditton Road we can turn left on to Southborough Road and then turn left back on to Langley Avenue.  This allows the learner to practice steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques.

Crossroads

The crossroads of Claremont Road, Maple Road and Surbiton Crescent can be used to illustrate priorities and the extra observation applied at crossroads. This junction can also be used to provide instruction on the methods of turning right-to-right at a crossroads.

Roundabouts

The  Hook Roundabout can be used to illustrate priorities, methods of positioning and the appropriate signals for a given exit.

Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals

Driving down Victoria Road there are plenty of crossings which can be used to demonstrate the various different types of crossings and the rules applying to road markings. Planning issues can also be addressed on this route.

Areas to do manoeuvres

The  Reverse around the Corner exercise can be carried out where Langley Avenue meets either Southborough Road or Kirkleas Road. The parallel park can be done in Southborough Road. The Turn in the Road is also easily demonstrated on Kirkleas Road.

Driving Schools Surbiton

Clearly when it comes to finding a decent driving school, the obvious choice is to find somewhere local to where you live or work, so you don’t have to travel far for your lessons. But, with London and the surrounding boroughs being as large as they are, and with transportation links allowing people to travel around with considerable ease, it is advisable to consider a driving school in an area with positive feedback even if that means you have to travel a little bit out of your way. Amongst the methods of determining which driving school will be best for you, viewing testimonials on websites is particularly useful. At Wimbledon driving school it is clear that there have been some more than happy customers pass through their doors. Generally this is down to the quality of the driving instructor, which is obviously the most important element of deciding which school to choose from. In the area driving schools Surbiton has had some decent reaction, and this is also a nice part of the world to practice your manoeuvres on, as the roads here are nice and quiet, and also rather pretty. Once you’ve settled into your routine lessons, it will be time to focus on your theory test, which must be completed prior to your practical test before you can obtain your licence. This is often regarded as a bit of a walkover, and for most people it is exactly that. But don’t expect to pass it without prior study. Failing the test will result in unnecessary additional expense and time, and will push back the date of your practical test, which when passed will enable you to immediately take to the road by yourself and go wherever your heart desires; a truly liberating feeling.
