We hope you find it useful. Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping This subject could be covered very well down Dover Park Drive; which is a right turn off Putney Heath. Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions WDS recommend doing a circuit which starts on Westmead turning and emerging left on to Dover Park Drive, turning left on to Parkmead, turning left on to Dover House Road, turning right on to Coppice, left on to Longwood Drive and left back to Westmead. This allows the learner to practice steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques. Crossroads The crossroads by Westmead near to Putney Heath can be used to illustrate priorities and the extra observation applied at crossroads. The intersection of Upper Richmond Road and Putney Hill can be used to provide instruction on the methods of turning right-to-right at a crossroads. Roundabouts There is a mini roundabout on Putney Heath which is useful to illustrate that if we are turning right and someone is going ahead we have priority. There are also plenty of mini roundabouts by Castello Avenue and Genoa Avenue. For a big three lane roundabout try Tibbets roundabout. Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals Driving down Putney Hill from Putney Heath and turning left down Upper Richmond Road you can demonstrate the various different types of crossings and the rules applying to road markings. Planning issues can also be addressed on this route. Areas to do manoeuvres Parkmead Road near to Putney Heath is perfect for manoeuvres.
